Executive Order 14429

Executive Order 14429 was signed for the duck hunters and the saltwater anglers, finding that access had never been harder because of the Federal Government’s regulatory overreach, confusing and inconsistent access policies, and heavy-handed restrictions. It was published in the Federal Register five days later. 91 FR 60289.

The same day, at the FTC

The Federal Trade Commission took $225 million from an American direct selling company under a standard for what people may say about their own businesses. That standard has never been published in the Federal Register at all.

“Regulatory overreach. Confusing and inconsistent access policies. Heavy-handed restrictions.”— Your words, written about the hunters on September 17. They describe what has been done to direct selling for decades better than anything we could write ourselves.

Still Writing the Promise

Steve and Gina went to Washington — and they are still there.

In April, the Federal Trade Commission settled with Steve and Gina over how they described their own business. No money changed hands. No penalties. No harm to any consumer. The case was simply about how they explained the business they built the way millions of Americans do: face to face, reputation first, one honest conversation at a time.

They still went to Washington. They started the conversations on Capitol Hill, and they are still having them — with the offices of the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, carrying the case for the Direct Selling Clarity Act. They are still waiting for the rule they went looking for.

This page is the other half of that fight — and it belongs to the White House only: asking the President to sign the proposed Executive Order, Restoring American Direct Selling, and to tell the Senate he wants the Act carried and passed into law.

Re: Respectful request to sign the proposed Executive Order — Restoring American Direct Selling

Dear Mr. President:

My name is [YOUR NAME], and I am one of the 12.2 million Americans connected to direct selling. I am writing to respectfully ask you to sign the proposed Executive Order, Restoring American Direct Selling. On September 17, 2026, Executive Order 14429 was signed for hunters and anglers, finding that access had never been harder because of the Federal Government's regulatory overreach, confusing and inconsistent access policies, and heavy-handed restrictions. That same day, the Federal Trade Commission took 225 million dollars from an American direct selling company under a standard for what people may say about their own businesses — a standard that has never been published in the Federal Register. Eighty-eight years of federal oversight, and direct selling still has no written rule. We are not asking for leniency. We are asking for what you already asked for the anglers: one clear, consistent, published standard instead of overreach.

I work a full-time job and build my direct-selling business around it. The work happens before the day starts, during a lunch break, and after the house is quiet. I do it because I value having something that is mine to build and mine to answer for. There is no communications department down the hall to repair a careless statement made in my name. That makes clear rules especially important. I want to know the standard, train to it, and be held accountable if I fail to meet it. I should not have to guess what that standard is.

Regulatory overreach. Confusing and inconsistent access policies. Heavy-handed restrictions. Those are your words from September 17, and they describe what direct selling has lived under for decades better than anything we could write ourselves. The proposed order would bring the standard into the open: publish it where the public can read it, separate illegal pyramid fraud from legitimate direct selling, and give an honest business owner a written path for making truthful statements. Congress should still pass the Direct Selling Clarity Act so the rule carries the force of law. Until then, the Executive Order can restore even-handed treatment. I am printing this letter and mailing it to the White House with my own hand.

Sincerely,
